St. Louis SEO
A search engine’s analytics tell a webmaster whether or not it is worth competing with another website for a particular keyword phrase. Before deciding which keyword to focus on people perform keyword research. The keyword or keyword phrase that is most desirable has medium competition.
Now that the keyword phrase has been chosen the webmaster can check out the competition. One thing to look into is the age of the websites on the first page. Since the first page is the only place to be it is not necessary to bother with the other pages. A website that has been in existence for 10 years is given more weight by the search engines than a website that has gone live yesterday. The competition in this case is too steep.
Another thing to look at is the competitors’ URLs. A website that has the keyword in the URL is ranked much higher by the search engines. Just looking at the URLs will show that the websites that tend to be in the top positions are those that have the keyword phrase in them. If it is not possible to purchase a domain name with the keyword phrase in it then it will be too hard to beat this website, too.
Each result that a search engine shows has a headline. The webmaster will want to see if the keyword phrase is in the headline. If it is then the competition will be too difficult to combat here if the page rank is very high which is another parameter webmasters use to judge a website. If the page rank is lower than four then it is safe to compete with that website. If the page rank is a four or higher the webmaster can decide to move onto another keyword phrase because these websites will be favored by the search engines.
The meta data which can be found at the very top of the screen tells the viewer what the website is about. Competitors may have added it to their websites which is something that the search engines are in favor of. This means that any new website will have to do the same in order to be competitive.
Search engine analysis done before someone launches a new website diminishes the possibility that a new website will be competing for a keyword or keyword phrase that has stiff competition. It also lets people know what types of things they need to do for their websites in order to compete with websites that present less of a challenge.
